So thankful I had the chance to know and record with Kathi McDonald on this track. I was trying to write a Motown Shuffle in the groove of "You Can't Hurry Love", Supremes, or "Ain't That Peculiar". Marvin Gaye. This song is the difficulty or impossibility of keeping friendships with former lovers, ex wives, like we have with old dear friends. Kathi was the greatest vocalist I ever worked with, and I still miss her. My ex-wife gave me the title, and I've gone through a few different versions.
