In Feb 2006, I moved to Vancouver British Columbia, and had been working with these musicians off and on, since coming to Vancouver, on gigs with Long John Baldry. I developed my own following in BC, and found a great studio there called "Rock Beach", a huge state of the art facility that could hold an audience of around 50 to 100 people. We did a 4 camera shoot, for a live DVD, and I decided to release the Audio version.
I brought up vocalist Kathi McDonald, who I had toured the world along with Long John Baldry. The sessions lasted 2 nights, and were magical. we recorded about 4 hours of material, and I picked the best of the tracks. I added a few horn section overdubs from my home studio, but what you hear is all live. these guys were amazing, we toured the festival circuit in Western Canada many times, and opened Bonnie Raitt's Vancouver and Calgary shows in 2012. You can see why she made the offer after hearing this recording.
