about

This is a solo piano tribute to some of my piano inspirations, dedicated to my Grandmother from Memphis Tennessee, who played piano in the silent move era, and taught piano. Her Nephew, my 2nd cousin played lead trombone with WC Handy, whose iconic song, St. Louis Blues appears here. My first live piano jazz concert was hearing Sweet Emma Barrett at Preservation Hall, at age 5. Since then I've been inspired by the great pianists of New Orleans, Jellyroll Morton, James Booker, Dr. John, Professor Longhair, Allen Toussaint, Jon Cleary, Ray Charles, Billy Preston, Little Richard, Jerry Lee Lewis, and too many to list.
