My Grandmother was the pianist of a Silent Movie theater in Memphis Tennessee in the 1920s, and Charlie Chaplin was the one of the greatest stars of that era. I often imagined playing with her in my fantasy as a composer and performer.

Nancy Krasn Gumbiner, from the Los Angeles CA area, who wrote this wonderful Lyric, found me on a website called Airgigs, where session players, composers and producers offer their services for a mutually agreed price. Although we've never met face to face, the melodic and lyrical connection is an inspiration to both of us.

Melodies are a gift that often come to me in a dream state in the early morning hours and this song is one of those.
This song has a very cinematic quality that evokes the Music of the elegance of the 1920's and 30's in Europe and America and I wanted to recreate that sophistication.

Through my work with ASCAP at the Library of Congress, I performed with Randy Newman and many of the greatest film Composers whose work has spanned many decades and Oscar winning films. Randy is a huge influence on my writing.
