about

Many of us are trying to wrap our heads around the coronavirus, dealing with isolation, fear, loss of work, losing loved ones, and feeling helpless and frustrated at the response of government. This song is my support to our healthcare professionals and all of those on the front lines of this crisis, praying for the strength to carry on.
The inspiration was people i see every day, doing the best they can, with not sufficient PPE, and a broken health care system. I pray that we all become stronger through this fight. I also wanted to express my fear of our planet in chaos, and feel that possibly this is a reboot, that in isolation we can rethink our relationship to mother nature, and the cosmos.

I performed all of the parts in my studio, since I am in quarantine in Spain with my wife Maria who is my best friend and my support always. I created a more dramatic cinematic track to emphasize the urgency of this fight, and the sense of Global pandemic, in musical terms.

On a musical note, much of my training and education was classical orchestration. I studied film scoring in California with Dr. Dan Wyman, who scored many of the John Carpenter horror films, worked on Apocalypse now with Francis Ford Coppola and many others. During this time, I was sometimes hired to do the music for movie trailers, of high impact action films, and took some of the tips I learned from those days.
I often look at the emotional impact of the score and how it conveys the message, with or without the visuals. These are dark times, and hope this expresses my feelings.

lyrics

Somebody shook a hand that was contagious
Now that bug got a brand new parking place
Now we’re pacing like lions in our cages
somebody save us, save the human race

Now I feel like the canary in the coal mine
but I ain’t gonna take one for the team
We’re locked and loaded we can't find the Goal line
the Silver bullet for this COVID 19

Father time got one minute to midnight
and Mother Nature raging to the core
Invisible enemy IS OUR KRYPTONITE
don’t care if you’re black or white rich or poor

and that nasty little demon gone viral
got us thinking bout my own survival
It don’t care if you’re the queen of denial
that virus inside us don’t know you’re wicked or righteous
that Nasty little demon gone, gone gone viral.

It’s been 40 days and nights still in quarantine
Still there ain’t no vaccination to be seen
It don’t matter if you’re superman, Prince Charles or the Queen
Keep thinkin that I’ll wake up and it’s just a bad dream

Stock markets falling, Oceans keep on rising
and forrest burning out of control
Politicians Keep on polarizing
Incompetence and greed takes it’s toll
prechorus
Chorus
