about

Lyrics based on the Martin Luther King, I have a Dream Speech
Melody by Vans T LeBlanc,
Music Arrangement, vocal and all Tracks by John Lee Sanders

I grew up in Birmingham Alabama, 1960-68, and met Martin Luther King at a downtown department store, when we were both Christmas Shopping. MLK helped organize a boycott of the large department stores, to bring change in hiring black workers. The songs and stories of the Civil rights movement, in my city inspired me greatly in ways that I still carry with me, on the work of Christ in our everyday lives, in the cause of social justice. These words are taken from his "I have a dream" Speech, from the march on Washington. On one of my tours in Germany, I visited the Arena in Nuremburg, where Hitler gave many of his Rallies, I knew this speech so well, that I recited them on the spot where Hitler brought the world into an evil place. I hope these words from Martin Luther King will resonate within your soul as they have in me. These last four years in America have brought back some of the racial evil tensions that I witnessed in my childhood in the Jim Crow South, and I hope these words will inspire us to the live out the meaning of our creed, and what we stand for.
