I wrote this around 2007, in Vancouver British Columbia. the lyric is from my friend David Ritz, one of the greatest music biographers in the world, Aretha, Marvin Gaye, BB King, Etta James. He's also a great songwriter, and sent me this lyric, and I composed the song and produced the track. It's about the commercialization of Christianity, Slick millionaire preachers, Armani Suits, and $40M private jets, and the transformation of it's message to the Prosperity Gospel of materialism. There's nothing wrong with wealth, but a million things wrong with income inequality, when one of the greatest nations of the world has fallen to the level of a 3rd world country.

The merging of the Evangelical movement, with the GOP, has corrupted the message of Christ, and has strayed from it's powerful message. The original Evangelical movement began in England and was the driving force in the Abolitionist movement that ended slavery, and also was the power of the Civil Rights movement in America. David Ritz also wrote "Sexual Healing" With Marvin Gaye. My interpretation of the Gospel is simple, walk humbly, Social Justice, science is real, Love one another, It’s time for us to reclaim the Jesus who taught love others, love God, feed the widows and orphans, heal the sick, to “do unto others as you would have them do unto you, to serve, to be kind and humble, to sacrifice for your fellow humans. Thank you God.
