I originally released this on CD form in 2010, while living in British Columbia. Much of my roots are Blues Jazz and Gospel from my hometown in Louisiana, and of course the piano traditions of New Orleans. in 2021, Amazon Music released one of the tracks, "Christmas Without the Creole". about a displaced Louisiana native missing family and roots away from home. I learned it from the Irma Thomas version, and I believe maybe it was written after Katrina, when so many New Orleans natives lost their homes and were relocated. I'm living in Spain, and miss my family at times. Amazon put my version on their "New. Orleans Jazz Christmas Playlist". along with my buddy Jon Batiste, who's got 11 Grammy Nominations this year, Wynton Marsalis, Harry Connick Jr. Louis Armstrong and many NOLA legends. I perform Christmas Gospel Concerts almost every year, and these are some of the songs I perform live with my great 6 piece band.
